EPL: Arsenal Stunned by West Brom as Chelsea, Leicester win

Arsenal suffered a fourth defeat in five league games on Saturday as Craig Dawson’s double helped West Brom inflict a huge blow to the Gunners’ hopes of finishing top-four in the English Premier League.

The strikes from Dawson and a goal from Robson-Kanu made it three for the home team against the 15th-minute goal of Alexis Sanchez for Arsenal.

Arsenal trail fourth place by five points (albeit with a game in hand).

After the game, embattled Manager Arsene Wenger said he would announce “very soon” whether he will remain at the club after reaching a decision on his future.

Elsewhere, Chelsea stretched their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 13 points following a hard-fought 2-1 win against 10-man Stoke City at the Bet365.

Willian gave the Blues the lead in the 13th minute beating Stoke’s keeper Lee Grant with a clever free-kick. Stoke eventually got back on level terms as Jon Walters converted a 38th minute penalty after he was fouled inside the 18-yard box by Gary Cahill. But Cahill made up for it by scoring a late winner three minutes before stoppage time.

Champions Leicester City held on to claim their first Premier League away win of the season and further ease their relegation worries in a 3-2 victory over West Ham.

The Foxes scored twice inside the first seven minutes, first by Riyad Mahrez and second by Robert Huth. Jamie Vardy later scored in the 38th minute to make of less effect the goals from Manuel Lanzini and Andre Ayew for the home side.

Crystal Palace earned their third successive league victory courtesy of an own goal by Watford’s Troy Deeney at Selhurst Park.

It was the Hornets captain that headed Yohan Cabaye’s free-kick into his own net at the near post after 68 minutes to give the home side the victory on Saturday.

At Goodison Park, Romelu Lukaku shined with two goals as Everton beat 10-man Hull City to move level on points with fifth-placed Arsenal.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the opener, before Substitute Enner Valencia doubled Everton’s lead in 78 minutes. And two stoppage time goals from Lukaku made the scoreline 4-0.
