Alan Pardew parts company with West Brom

English Premier League side, West Brom have appointed former Newcastle and Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew to replace Tony Pulis as manager.

Pulis was sacked nine days ago after West Brom went 10 Premier League games without a victory and were a point above the relegation zone.

56-year-old Pardew has been out of the game since December 2016 when he was sacked by Palace, and has signed a contract with the Baggies until the end of the 2019-20 season.

“I’m thrilled with the opportunity Albion have provided and looking forward to getting to work with what I consider to be a talented group of players,” said Pardew.

“The immediate challenge will be to get the results we need to pull ourselves up the table.

“But I’m aware that while I’m joining one of the great, traditional clubs of English football, it is one determined to go forward in the Premier League.”

Pardew, who is a former team-mate of West Brom technical director Nick Hammond, will be in charge of the team when they face Palace in the league at the Hawthorns this Saturday.

West Brom will later face Liverpool and Swansea away before a home fixture against Manchester United.
