1,056 new COVID-19 infections take Nigeria’s total caseload to 141,447. Deaths, recoveries updated

Nigeria on Tuesday recorded 1,056 fresh COVID-19 cases.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which disclosed this on its Twitter handle, said the new COVID-19 cases were recorded in 21 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It added that the number of COVID-19 fatalities in Nigeria stood at 1,694 as of Tuesday night.

Also, the total number of confirmed cases increased to 141,447.

However, Nigeria has recorded 115,755 recoveries since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country last year.

The breakdown of the figure on a state-by-state basis revealed the following: Lagos (214), Osun (120), FCT (116), Plateau (88), Ebonyi (75), Kwara (73), Gombe (70), Ondo (57), Rivers (47), Akwa Ibom (38), Edo (25), and Oyo (23).

Others are – Kano (22), Delta (19), Katsina (18), Borno (16), Nasarawa (13), Ekiti (8), Ogun (8), Bauchi (4), Benue (1), and Jigawa (1).
