NDLEA arrests 2 for attempting to traffic cocaine to Saudi Arabia

The battle against the importation of banned drugs continues after the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency intercepted 11 containers of illicit drugs.

According to the agency, 118 metric tones of Tramadol tablets worth N241 million were seized at the Apapa Port in Lagos.

The intercepted containers had been on the watch-list of the NDLEA since November 2017, so says Head of Public Affairs of the agency, Mr. Jonah Achema in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

He also added that 39 more containers were lined up for inspection as the agency strongly suspects that they contain banned drugs.

“This brings to 581 million Tramadol tablets uncovered within two days of the search. The search is still ongoing. We shall continue tomorrow as well,” he said.
