11 parties to participate in Zamfara local council elections
The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) said on Tuesday that 11 political parties would participate in the November 16 local government elections in Zamfara State.
The IPAC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Isah Moriki, disclosed this at a press briefing on Tuesday in Gusau.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) had earlier dragged the State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC) to the Federal High Court, Gusau over alleged irregularities in the process.
Moriki is also the Chairman of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) in the state.
He said: “Recently, we held a meeting with the ZASIEC and the commission’s chairman briefed us on their arrangements to conduct the local government polls on November 16.
“The commission promised to conduct credible local government elections in the state.
