12 things you may not know about late Nollywood actor Ernest Asuzu

The death of veteran actor Ernest Asuzu who began his career in the ’90s movie ‘Another Campus Queen’ and later rose to national prominence in 1997 after he starred in the classic Nollywood movie, ‘Rituals’, has been confirmed.

His death was made known by his wife, Jennifer Asuzu, who said her husband (who suffered stroke in the year 2015) unsuspectedly fainted on Tuesday evening and never woke up.

The death of the actor who was once the toast of Nollywood until his career plunged after he came down with the stroke in 2015, thus affecting his speech and also made him bedridden for three years, was also confirmed by the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas.

He said; “Yes, Ernest Asuzu is dead. I am trying to reach his wife to get the full details. I will get back to you.”

Further reports say the remains of the actor who also once battled depression and was rumoured dead at some point, is being conveyed to the East (Imo State to be precise) for funeral rites.
