15 PDP chairmen suspended in Rivers

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State on Friday announced the indefinite suspension of 15 local government chapter chairmen.

A statement issued by the party’s State Secretary, Samuel Okpoko, indicated that the State Executive of the PDP had approved the suspension after an emergency meeting on Thursday.

Meanwhile, no reason was given for the suspension.

According to the statement released on Friday, “The affected local government chairmen include: Abua-Odual, Ahoada East, Ahoada West, Akuku-Toru, Andoni, Bonny, Degema, Eleme and Emohua.

“Others are Khana, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Okrika, Omuma, Opobo/Nkoro and Oyigbo.
