16 victims feared dead in US military plane crash

A US Marine Corps plane has crashed in the US state of Mississippi after it ‘experienced a mishap’ killing no less than 16 victims who were aboard the flight when the incident happened.

Speaking after the crash Sarah Burns, the Marine Corps spokeswoman in a statement did not provide any details regarding the cause of the crash but said the plane “experienced a mishap”.

Speaking to the US media Fred Randle, the local county emergency management director, said that all 16 victims who were on the plane died and there were no survivors.

Reports say the KC-130 transport aircraft crashed late on Monday in rural Mississippi about 135km north of the state capital city of Jackson.
