In-house cleansing as DSS boots out Ogar, 17 others

Published

The Department of State Services (DSS) in what could be described as an in-house cleansing on Wednesday sacked its former spokesperson and a number of top directors by sending them on compulsory retirement.

Though the number of directors affected is yet to be determined, it is believed close to 20 are affected.

Marilyn Ogar who was the former deputy director of the agency was removed two months ago and equally lost her promotion following President Muhammadu Buhari’s nullification of the exercise upon assumption in office.

Her fate and those of some of her former colleagues may not be unconnected with her alleged role in the last administration and the run-up to the 2015 election, as she was severally accused of alleged partisanship in the build-up to the general elections.
