17 injured in shoot out at Arkansas concert

A shoot out which ensued at a concert in a venue called the Power Ultra Lounge in Arkansas, USA saw 17 people sustain gun shot wounds after they were caught up in the exchange.

The shooting which started at about 2:30 a.m. local time on Saturday, thirty minutes after the club closes, saw people trampling on themselves during the rush for the exits, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette newspaper, citing police.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was arrested in connection with the shooting even as none of the 17 victims who were shot died.

Police also revealed that one person injured in the shooting at the venue was initially listed in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable.

“We do not believe this incident was an active-shooter or terror-related incident,” police said on Twitter. “It appears to have been a dispute at a concert.”

According to a Twitter post by a reporter for local television station KATV, some of the victims are juveniles.
