How 2 female suicide bombers attack Maiduguri cattle market

About 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari announced that the Nigerian Army had liberated Sambisa Forest, the former stronghold of the Boko Haram insurgents, two female suicide bombers struck Maiduguri cattle market.

The attck on Monday which caused heavy explosion outside the gate of the market, led to the immediate death of one of the suicide bombers, while the second was lynched by an angry mob.

The two young girls said to be in their teens, had tried invading the usually crowded cattle market around 8.40am and detonated their explosives.

The Borno police spokesperson, Victor Isuku who confirmed the incident said, “At about 0840hrs today, explosion by two female suicide bombers occurred at kasuwa shanu market Maiduguri.

“One of the bombers was instantly killed in the explosion, while the second was lynched by irate mob in the vicinity. EOD team and other security forces mobilized to the scene and detonated the unexploded IED.

“Normalcy restored to the area while security has been beefed up within the area and other parts of the city!”

One other person was said to have been injured from the blast.

The Army had warned that fleeing Boko Haram members were escaping the forest to civilian territories around Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states, and asked the residents of the areas to be very vigilant.

    My greatest surprise now is them using females as suicide bombers which is becoming prevalent.

      Because females are the only one that can not be suspected. But this ladies that were catch is not professional and is a bad lock to those ladies

    Boko haram will never know peace . they made me abandon my glowing business in Maiduguri and had no business again.

    Two female suicide bombers and they are teens… They obviously have no life. Only God knows what Boko Haram promised them before embarking on their suicide mission.

      Maybe they most have treating their life and family if they did not do it.we all know how wicked this boko haram are. They get what they want any time any day
