2 persons sent to deliver ransom for kidnapped Bishop, children also abducted

The Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has revealed that two person sent to deliver ransom for the release of two children of a Kaduna-based bishop, have been abducted by the same gunmen.

This was revealed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Chairman of Kaduna State chapter of CAN, Rev. Joseph Hayab, who also informed that the two persons were abducted by the bandits after collecting the ransom from them without effecting the release of the abducted kids of the bishop.

Rev. Hayab also appealed to security operatives to rescue the bishop and his children not forgetting Pastor Elisha Numan of the Nagarta Baptist Church, Makeri, who was also abducted two weeks ago.

According to Rev. Hayab, Pastor Numan whom the kidnappers want N7 million as ransom for his release, was ill when his abductors came calling.

Meanwhile, reports say the abducted wife of the Anglican Bishop of the Ikeduru Diocese in Imo State, Anuri Maduwuike, has been set free by her abductors.

Mrs. Maduwuike who was kidnapped on Friday at Ekemele, while she was going home from Owerri, was set free on Sunday after an undisclosed amount was purportedly paid as ransom.
