2 Qatari sisters robbed of $5.3m on Paris highway

French police have confirmed that two visiting Qatari sisters were attacked and robbed of $5.3m worth of valuables in a highway heist in the north of the French capital of Paris.

According to a police source, the women, in their 60’s where attacked when their chauffeur-driven Bentley was held up by masked men who sprayed them with tear gas moments after leaving the Le Bourget airport northeast of the capital.

The robbers stole “everything in the vehicle: jewels, clothes, luggage”, the source said.

The French driver, who works for the women on a regular basis, reported the incident to police.

Further reports revealed that the robbers were in a car which forced the Bentley off the highway and then to stop in an emergency zone.

The sisters’ names were not released.
