200 Reps receive new set of official cars

Facts have emerged that at least, over 200 members of the House of Representatives have so far taken possession of their new Peugeot 508 official cars.

This is even as the House has refuted reports that its committee on House services was offering cash in lieu of vehicles to some of its members who had not been given cars.

PAN had been contracted by the House leadership to supply the vehicles to all the 360 members as utility vehicles.
Chairman of the House committee on media and public affairs, Hon. Abdulrazaq Namdas (APC, Adamawa), who confirmed this to New Telegraph in a telephone chat said the cars were being supplied in batches but denied that money was being given to lawmakers who were yet to receive their keys.

Although Namdas could not give the exact figure, he said at least about two third (240) of the lawmakers had accessed their vehicles.
