Senate to confront FG over judges' 4 months salaries of judges

The Senate has a busy week ahead of it as a number of activities earlier put off by the lawmakers will dominate the deliberations of the Senate this week.

Chief among these is the Presentation of the 2017 Appropriation Bill by President Muhammadu Buhari to a Joint Session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.

There is also the confirmation hearing of Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu and the passage of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).

A look at the Notice Paper of the Senate also revealed that Senators will screen Magu on Thursday, the last day before proceeding on end of year holiday while they will receive and consider the report of its Committee on the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) for 2017 -2019.

Other legislative activities to engage the lawmakers include the consideration of the Committee Report on the North East Development Bill 2016, deliberation on the 2016 budget proposals of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the Nigeria Customs Service and the Postal Service of Nigeria.
