2019: After several attempts Pastor Okotie declares to run for presidency again

Pastor of the Household of God Church International Ministries, Christopher Oghenebrorie Okotie, has again declared his intention to run for the presidency in 2019.

Okotie officially declared his intention during church service on Sunday at his church in Lagos.

Addressing members of the congregation he said, “Some days ago, I wrote a letter to the chairmanship of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Uche Secondus, asking them not to field any Presidential candidate, that they should adopt me.”

The pastor, who described Nigeria as a crying nation that needs liberation, argued that the solution to Nigeria’s problem does not lie on APC or PDP.

He added that his presidential ambition was the “beginning of the complete turnaround of our nation.”

Okotie had first ran for the office of president under the platform of the Justice Party (JP), led by Ralph Obiorah after he was schemed out of the National Democratic Party (NDP) primaries elections.

He however was among other presidential contenders who lost to former President Olusegun Obasanjo in the May 2003 elections.

Again in 2007, Okotie had pursued his desire to lead Nigeria on the platform of a party he founded, Fresh Democratic party. He had also lost to Umaru Yar’Adua in that elections.

Not bothered by previous failures, Okotie yet again in 2011, ran once more for presidency and lost to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
