2019: Moghalu lists issues that has made Buhari lose goodwill among Nigerians

A presidential aspirant in the forthcoming 2019 general elections and a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Kingsley Moghalu, has explained why he would win Buhari.

He said that not only have nine million Nigerians lost their jobs since Buhari came to power in 2015, but that the country has become the poverty capital of the world and a killing field despite Buhari being a retired army general.

Moghalu stated this when he spoke on Wednesday during the inauguration of his support organisation in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

Noting that Buhari had wasted the goodwill Nigerians accorded him during the 2015 general elections, Moghalu boasted that he was going to easily defeat Buhari in 2019 using the President’s poor records and performance as campaign tools.

“Nine million people have lost their jobs since Buhari came to power in 2015; Nigeria has become a killing field under him, even though he was a General.

“Buhari is running on an old name. I will beat him by simply using his poor record. Under Buhari, Nigeria has become the poverty capital of the world. We have more people that are poor.”

Pointing out that the major problem of Nigeria is leadership, he lamented that Nigeria is still running on transactional leadership instead of transformational leadership.

On how to actualise his ambition, he said that he was setting up his campaign organisation in all the 36 states of the country, explaining that “we are doing this because we need a leader and not a ruler.”

He described as retrogressive thinking, the idea, held by many Nigerians, that the North should retain the seat of the president in 2019.
