2019: PDP with or without Atiku can’t beat APC —Okupe

A former aide to former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan has stated that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) cannot beat the ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2019 general elections.

According to him, the resignation of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the APC and his presence in PDP will make no difference.

Okupe stated on his Twitter handle on Saturday that “Only another formidable Coalition can remove PMB. Not 1 party.

“Certainly not pdp with or without Atiku”.

Atiku had on Friday announced his resignation from the APC which he joined in the run up to the 2015 elections, but lost the presidential ticket to President Muhammadu Buhari.

He recently complained that the Buhari government had sidelined him after they used his resources to gain power.

Although Atiku has not formally declared which party he would now join, there are strong rumors that he would head back to the PDP in efforts to clinch the party’s presidential ticket for the 2019 elections.

Already, there are speculations the he would soon register into PDP at his ward in Adamawa State, and thereafter publicly declare for the party.

Reacting to Atiku’s resignation from the APC, governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El’Rufai had said, “God has decreed that this is President Buhari’s time, as long as he remains in politics, I see no Nigerian who can match him in popularity and I will not have any sleepless night because Atiku decamped APC”.

Also, the PDP said it would welcome Atiku if he declared for the party, but that it would not mean he would automatically receive the party’s presidential ticket.

This is another man who understands politics so well, it is definitely certain Atiku is not a force to be scared of, there’s nothing he can do to stop APC in 2019, but Nigerians can and they will!

2019 will play its card perfectly, we don’t have to be pressurized by Atiku’s decision. Atiku has always been a failure in politics and that hasn’t changed about him, he’s only looking for ways to be the President of Nigeria and he’ll never be

I don’t know why everyone keeps talking about Atiku like he’s a political godfather, this guy is angry because APC refused to give him more than he got. Everyone should stop talking about him, its an irrelevant issue

Atiku is a political wanderer and no matter what, he can never get what he wants as in presidency.
