2019: Tinubu will lose Lagos -Gov Amosun

Is the much touted strain in Tinubu/Amosun relationship gaining real life stature? Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state is rumoured to have stated that the APC national leader, and former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, will lose his political grip over Lagos state in 2019.

The governor in a report by Nation is said to have made the declaration at a meeting he held with members of the Ogun State House of Assembly and their National Assembly counterparts at the Governor’s Office in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

The governor was reported to have hinted on his plans to create crisis for Tinubu in the Lagos APC.

He reportedly said: “Even Lagos will go out of Asiwaju’s grip. We will bring in few PDP (members) to decamp to APC and cause them problems (laughter). You don’t know anything. You can go ahead and tell them o; I don’t care”.

Recall that speculations have been making the rounds about Tinubu’s waning political influence in the south west, an area in which he was formerly considered as a political force.

There have been reports fueled by rumours that a number of prominent politicians in the region formerly considered as Tinubu’s ‘boys’ may have left his political wings, by dumping him.

The Nation report also stated that Amosun has hinted of his plans to move from government house to the Senate by contesting the Ogun Central senatorial seat come 2019.

The seat is occupied by Senator Lanre Tejuoso who, incidentally, was at the meeting and was said to have been visibly shocked by the governor’s speech.

A source at the meeting quoted the governor as saying: “I am under enormous pressure to contest for the Senate seat of my senatorial district.

“I said to myself, I can’t be anything less than number three when I go back to the Senate.

“I might not contest and I might contest. Even Tejuoso that is seated here might recontest and might not recontest.

“The same goes for Micky (the lawmaker representing Abeokuta North/Obafemi Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives) and others here.”

However, the governor at another meeting of the state’s chapter of the party caucus held in Abeokuta, the state capital reacted to some of the issues in the state in relation to elections in 2018.

He said he was not bothered by reports on him on social media platforms, even as he described the authors as “traitors and cowards”.

He said: “They said they have audio and I said they are cowards or even traitors if they are inside the hall, if they have audio, don’t wait for audio, this is me, I will not only give you the audio, do the video, I am here personally and the way we are brought up whatever we want to say, we will say it openly.

“Those cowards or those traitors if they are trying to record something, I believe those people don’t have anything to do really and truly, you remember when I told you what we use to do truly.

“If you want something, there are several ways of getting it.

“Imagine people said that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will finish him in Lagos, and I said don’t worry, they don’t know what they are saying.

“By the way, I say it all the time, that Asiwaju that you see, not money, he didn’t give me any money. No. And I said it often, ‘Won kii fi oju oloore gbole o (you don’t repay good with evil)’.

“When I needed him, he stood by me.

“I talk to him despite all of those things people will want to say.

“I think they are afraid to write something about what we are doing and what we are not doing.

“We have responsibilities to govern. Please don’t be distracted by somebody said this or that.

“But let me say this for us in Ogun State: I may not be able tell you quickly and say this is who our governor will be. But we know those who will not be governors.

“This is Ogun State. This is where I was born. My primary school, secondary school, and tertiary institutions took place here. So, if I am speaking, I am speaking from the position of strength.

“And I know with all our elders, even those that are political, I know those who will not be governors.

“So, I know that at the appropriate time, we will get our people together and say these are your sons and daughters.

“We will pick, and whoever we pick is going to be governor”, he declared.

Pride in THE air. But as they say, pride goes before a fall. AMOSUN WILL NOT SEE THAT THIS ISNT BUSINESS AS USUAL.

Amosun is not a dog like Aregbesola, Ambode and Fayose who see truth but can’t say. He has aired the truth.

“We will bring in few PDP (members) to decamp to APC and cause them problems..” PDP has no better plan for any state, let alone Lagos. 2019 is almost here, we shall see who PDP will present as candidate who will dethrone APC

This Amosun is a fool. There’d b war in Lagos the moment PDP takes over the state. They can only attempt, but will never win. If Tinubu loses everywhere, Lagos is never going to be among the states

“We will pick, and whoever we pick is going to be governor,” this is where the many problems of Nigeria emanated fro. Our politicians prefer selection over election in order to have the loyalty of the selected candidate.

      Sure now
There is no election in Nigeria since 1999,when we returned back to Democratic regime again, it has been selection till now.
OBJ was selected because it was Olu Falae of AD who won the real election in 1999, in 2003, though OBJ was partially elected , in 2007, even late Yar’adua confessed the election that brought him in was rigged, on and on again in 2011, Jonathan was selected then finally in 2015, cows and under-age people voted buhari in selection process.

All this things are cause by bribbing and corruption so what ever that is happening is cause by those evil selected people who their election is rigged
