2019: While struggling with Zamfara Court bars APC from submitting candidates list from Delta

The dust surrounding the primary elections of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is yet to settle, as a Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, has stopped it from submitting any list of candidates for the 2019 general elections to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The court, presided over by Justice Toyin Adegoke, gave the order in a suit filed by the Chief Cyril Ogodo-led state executive committee.

The order barred the party’s National Working Committee from submitting any list of candidates from either of the factions in the state until the determination of the substantive suit.

This is coming even as the party is still struggling with how to deal with the fallout of its primaries in Zamfara State.

The INEC has declared that the party would not present candidates for elective offices of the state in 2019 as it did not conduct any primaries, but the party is insisting that it did.

Recall also, that a court had recently nullified  the APC primaries held in Rivers State where there were also issues of candidates emerging from two factions of the party in the state.
