2023: What S’East govs, Senators, Rep members should do to actualise president of Igbo extraction

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has called for the defection of three governors of Southeast states, nine Senators and 20 members of the House of Representatives from the zone to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the group, the defections are necessary so as to guarantee a president of Igbo extraction come 2023.

The group, in a statement by its President General, Mazi Okechukwu isiguzoro, said though arrangements have been concluded for the defection of two governors from the Southeast to the rulling party, it called for a third one so as to put the zone in a vantage position in 2023.

The group also noted that with the victory of the APC at Saturday’s governorship elections in Bayelsa and Kogi states, the South-south and Southwest are having political advantage over South East over 2023.

It therefore called for the collapse of PDP in the Southeast.

Pleading with the ggovernors of the zone to heed the call, Ohanaeze Youths noted that though the governors have a good rapport with President Muhammadu Buhari, it said it was not enough to guarantee the security and collective political benefits of South East.
