25 killed as Buhari leaves Plateau

Rather than stem the tide of killings, the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari seems to have sparked more killings.

Few days after the president left Plateau State after a two-day visit to commiserate with people of the state over some killings and destruction of property, more deaths have been recorded.

Twenty-five people were killed on Monday night at Dundu village, Kwall District of Bassa local government area of the state.
This is coming as the state government had planned a mass burial for some people who were earlier killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen today.

In the latest attack, 19 men, three women and three children were reportedly killed, but the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mathias Tyopev who confirmed the incident stated that the figure is uncertain.

He said, “Yes, there has been an attack but right now, we don’t have the figure, but the DCP Operations is on his way to the village to ascertain the true position.”

More details later…
