2face denies diverting funds meant for IDPs

Popular musician 2face Idibia has denied news making the rounds that he diverted cash generated at a special fund raising concert tagged, ‘Eargasm’ into his personal account.

The multiple-award winning singer refuted the claims in an interview while reacting to questions raised, saying it was insane for anyone to think he would bring himself so low as to divert money meant for the downtrodden.

He said, “My attention is focused more on the individuals and organizations concerned with providing support for IDPs; people who murmur about hidden agenda don’t matter. If they are pessimists and haters then they need to be saved from themselves.”

Continuing, 2face also noted that since 2012 the concert has been doing its bit to provide an avenue for people to donate to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and help alleviate their suffering.

“We launched ‘million voices for peace’ project in 2012 and have a rich history of peacebuilding initiatives. It’s primarily in the interest of peace that I called for the February 6th peaceful protest.

“And for anyone who thinks my image needs redemption for my commitment to peacebuilding, I have absolutely no comment,” 2face stated.
