For the 2nd time, Wike sacks commissioner for Works

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has for the second time in just two years sacked another Commissioner of works.

The victim this time is Bathuel Harrison who was sacked with immediate effect.

Announcing the development in a press statement made available to newsmen, the governor’s media aide on electronics, Simeon Nwakaudu said, “Rivers State Governor Wike has relieved the State Commissioner of Works, Bathuel Harrison of his appointment with immediate effect.

“The former commissioner has been directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works.”

The statement, however, did not disclose the reason warranting the sack of the commissioner.

Wike had also in 2016, suspended indefinitely Kelvin Wachukwu, the state’s former Commissioner of Works and subsequently relieved him of his duty.
