3 APC lawmakers, one other announce defection

A total of four members of the House of Representatives have announced their defection from their various political parties.

Their defection was announced on the floor of the House of Representatives by the Speaker, Mr Yakubu Dogara on Tuesday.

Three lawmakers left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party (LP) while another left the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Accord Party (AP).
The three lawmakers who left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for another party are Mr Dapo Lam Adesina representing Ibadan North East/South East, Mr Samuel Segun-Williams representing Abeokuta South and Mr Lawan Hassan-Anka.

Mr Abiodun Awoleye-Dada from Ibadan north who had in September announced his defection from the APC to the ADC also announced his defection barely two months in the party.

While Mr Lawan Hassan-Anka moved to the PDP, Mr Samuel Segun-Williams moved to the LP.

Alao, a son to a former politician in Oyo State, Dapo Lam Adesina announced his defection to the ADC.

Abiodun Awoleye-Dada who would be completing his second term as a House of Representatives member joined the accord party.

His defection brings the total number of lawmakers who have defected to the ADC in recent times to five.

This defection brings to Forty the total numbers of APC Reps that have exited the party following the defection of Thirty seven Rep members in July.

However, the APC still controls the majority at the National Assembly despite the defections.
