Again, 3 killed, 9 policemen injured in Bangladesh bomb attack
Barely a week after a terror attack at a Dhaka cafe in Bangladesh which claimed the lives of 20 people, mostly foreigners, another round of terror played out, when bombs hurled and gunfire exchanged killed three people and injured nine policemen, near a huge Eid prayer meeting with over 200,000 people in the northern Kishoreganj district.
Among the dead victims who were caught up in the exchange of gunfire at the scene of the incident which claimed the life of one of the attackers were two policemen and a female civilian.
“Two policemen, an attacker and a woman who was shot during the gunfight were killed,” national police spokesman AKM Shahidur Rahman revealed.
“Nine policemen were also injured. They are in a critical condition and have been shifted to a military hospital in Dhaka.”
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack which saw two of the suspected attackers arrested, including one who had been shot and injured, while a pistol and machete were recovered from the scene.
