Published

on

Scores of protesters blockaded a hospital in Brisbane to prevent a child being treated for burns to be removed as Australia’s policy on asylum seekers continues to be criticised.

The Australian government however announced that the baby and mother will not be sent back to an asylum seekers’ detention camp on the Pacific island of Nauru.

Peter Dutton who serves as Immigration Minister said the one-year-old girl
known as Asha and her mother would be released into community detention in Australia.
