36 victims feared dead, dozens injured as packed bus collides with truck in China

A tragic scene played out in the city of Yixing in Jiangsu province of China when a collision between a packed bus and truck claimed the lives of no less than 36 people and left a dozen others injured.

Chinese officials said that the incident which occurred along the Changchun-Shenzhen expressway on Sunday, took place when the bus veered off its lane to hit the moving truck.

According to a report by Yixing police, preliminary investigation determined that the accident was caused by a flat tyre on the left front wheel of the bus.

The police also informed that nine people were seriously injured, 26 were slightly hurt and one has been discharged from hospital.
