Tragedy struck at an ijaw community in Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State when daredevil gunmen stormed the community

The marauders shot sporadically and beheaded a 36-year old applicant, Mr. Gabriel Sibe, while one person was injured and another declared missing in the ensuing shootout.

According to the leader of Isaba kingdom, and the brother of the beheaded 36-year-old, the assailants who dismembered his brother’s head are from Aladja (a neighbouring community).

“It happened between 8.00 am and 9.00 am near Isaba, it was through a gun battle, the police have come to examine the body of the 36- year-old Gabriel.” He said.

Confirming the beheading, Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Delta State Police Command, DSP Andrew Aniamaka said peace has been restored in the area adding that the Commissioner of Police, Zannah Ibrahim, Area Commander, Warri and operations officers moved into Aladja, Udu local government area, to search for the suspects as soon as the report was received.

The PPRO who condemned the development revealed that the police had done everything in the past to broker peace among warring Ogbe-Ijoh, Isaba and Aladja communities, last year, but blood letting still continues.
