37 new cases of COVID-19 infections recorded in Katsina

The Katsina State government led by Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has recorded 37 new cases of COVID-19 in the state bringing its total number of confirmed infections to 75.

This was announced during a press briefing on Monday, by Governor Masari who said out of the 37 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Katsina, 14 of them are medical personnel.

According to the governor most of them are working in the FMC and others at Private clinics.

Katsina had also recorded four deaths, bringing the number of total deaths recorded in the state to seven.

This came days after Governor Masari ordered three additional markets shut down in the state over growing concerns of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The markets affected by the latest order are Dutsi, kayawa and Garkin Daura markets.

The statement was contained in a statement by the Secretary of State Government, Dr Mustapha Inuwa, adding that the action followed growing concerns over the increasing confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state.
