4 dead as 5-storey building collapses in Lagos

Death toll from collapsed building hits 22

At least four persons have been confirmed dead after a 5-storey building located at Chisco bus-stop, opposite Oando, Lekki Phase 1 collapsed this morning.

Confirming the number of lives lost, spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA, Ibrahim Faloye who is at the scene of the incident said four bodies have been recovered from the rubble of the collapsed building while the number of those rescued alive have now risen to five.

Faloye added that rescue operation is still on going to fish out possible survivors who may still be stuck deep down in the rubble of the collapsed building.
