4 killed in clash between rival cult groups in Delta

Four lives have been claimed in a suspected clash between two rival cult groups in Asaba.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, Delta State Police spokesman DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya said the killings took place between Tuesday, May 7 and Wednesday, May 8, at different locations in Asaba.

“The Police patrol team on arrival at the scene found a young man already shot on the right eye lying in a pool of his own blood, he was quickly convened to Federal Medical CentreAsaba for medical attention but died while receiving treatment on 8th May.

 ‘’A corpse was found on the ground with knife stab on the left rib, some metres away from scene of earlier shooting.

‘’The continued face-off between the two rival cults, claimed two more lives of suspected cult members’’ she said.

The DSP added that three persons had been arrested for their alleged involvement in the killings while the victims’ bodies had been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC mortuary.
