Protests over U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has entered a second week with no less than four Palestinians killed and 160 others injured as Israeli forces violently crack down on demonstrators.

According to reports, most of the casualties were on the Gaza Strip border, where thousands of Palestinians gathered to hurl rocks at Israeli soldiers beyond the fortified fence.

An 18-year-old Palestinian, Muhammad Amin Aqel al-Adam who allegedly attempted to attack Israeli forces was shot by the Israeli military and later died on the spot after loosing too much blood.

Another Palestinian in the occupied West Bank was killed under similar circumstances hours earlier while two other Palestinians in the Gaza Strip died after being shot by Israeli forces during border protests.

Yesterday, scores of dismayed Palestinians took to the streets to demonstrate after concluding Friday prayers at the Al Aqsa mosque in Occupied East Jerusalem, but were prevented from entering the Old City by barricades put up by Israelis.

Protests against the decision ratified by Trump were also recorded in Ramallah and in Bethlehem, where protesters faced off with Israeli soldiers and in the Indian city of Mumbai, the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, and in the Japanese capital, Tokyo.
