Ahead of their Premier League meeting with Manchester United this weekend, Everton Boss Ronald Koeman has expressed worries over the recent form of his team.

Everton were thrashed 3-0 loss at Atalanta in their Europa League group opener on Thursday, their third successive defeat with eight goals conceded and none scored in three games.

The Toffees began their premier league campaign with a 1-0 win over Stoke City and grabbed a draw with Manchester City before losing to Chelsea and Tottenham to stay 16th on the log with 4 points.

Speaking at Friday’s pre-match conference, Koeman said: “I will have a meeting with the players – the experienced ones must stand up.”

He admitted however that the Atlanta defeat “was a wake-up call” for his team, adding that some of his players are only just starting to get used to the English topflight..

“Our team is in transition. Everybody knows as young player and foreign player coming to the Premier League, they need time,” he said.

“Everybody knows if you come to the league as a foreign player you need time. Big teams that get big signings, they get one year to adapt.

“We have other players with doubts. I don’t want to make it individual because it’s a team performance, but we need to be more aggressive.”

Everton will face Jose Mourinho’s men at Old Trafford on Sunday.
