4 suspects including 20-yr-old arrested for murder, kidnapping

The long arm of the law has caught up with four suspects including a 20-year-old identified as Sylvester Chima for their involvement in a murder and kidnapping case.

The suspects according to reports were arrested by men of the Anti-kidnapping Unit of the Imo State Police Command in Rivers State.

According to the State Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, the arrested suspects were involved in the kidnap and murder of one Miss Oluchi Nnodumele.

The state CP said the other suspects identified as Gift Igwe, 27, Solomon Godwin, 28, and Wosa Okachukwu, 23 including the 20-year-old were arrested on August 29 in Rivers State in continuation of the manhunt for the abductors and killers of the victim, 20-year-old Nnodumele, who hailed from Awo Idemili in the Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.

Galadanchi said, “We have arrested additional four suspects in connection with the kidnap and murder of 20-year-old Miss Oluchi Nnodumele of Awo Idemili in the Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.

“The suspects were arrested on August 29 at their criminal hideout on Alawama Estate Road, Rivers State. They have already confessed to the kidnap and murder of Miss Oluchi Nnodumele, 20.

“During interrogation, the suspects mentioned names of their gang members who are now at large and equally confessed that they have four AK-47 rifles and four six rounds of English revolver pistol in possession of the fleeing gang leader.”

He added, “Let me assure Imo people, especially the family of the slain 20-year-old girl, that my command will not rest until we bring all those who have hands in the kidnap and subsequent killing of that innocent girl.

“Crime has no place in our country and to all those who murdered that girl, they can only run, but we will catch them. The investigating team has been mandated to fish out all of the suspects.
