The long arm of the law has caught up with a 40-year-old man identified as Babangida Salisu after he allegedly flogged a six-year-old boy to death.

Babangida who is now facing a charge of culpable homicide reportedly sent the victim to his early grave with his whip for coming late to school.

The police said the victim died after flogging on March 12, 2018 by the suspect who hails from Yankara village in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Reports say security operatives arrested the suspect after the victim’s mother, Sa’ade Babangida, reported the incident at Faskari Police Station from where the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence department.

Babangida was paraded before a Katsina senior Magistrate court on Friday for cognizance but the prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado, said investigation was still in progress and sought an adjournment.

The prayers of the prosecutor was granted by the presiding senior magistrate, Hajiya Fadile Dikko who directed that Babangida be remanded in the prison custody until May 24 when the case would come up for further mention.
