Zenith Basketball: First Bank beat Dolphin to regain trophy

First Bank Basketball Club on Thursday reclaimed their Zenith Bank sponsored Women Basketball title at the National Stadium in Lagos.

First Bank were too much for the defending Champions and the Elephant girls won the final match 75-60 against Dolphin to confirm supremacy.

The outcome was not a surprise to many followers of the game as it was clear that the experience of First Bank and the huge investment of the management were massive advantage for the team.

Chairman of Dolphin, Wale Aboderin, said it was a match the First Bank team deserved to win.

“They did very well from the start of the competition to the end. They spent money on the team and they have great coaches. We also did well but we stood no chance this time.

“I am so proud of my team because to be in the final back-to-back is not easy. We are going to prepare better and work towards doing exactly what First Bank did to us today (Thursday).”
