Breaking… Another Super Eagles coach, Amodu Shuaibu dies in Benin

Few days after the shocking death of former Super Eagles coach and captain, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, another blow has befallen Nigerian football.

Another former coach of the nation’s senior football team, Amodu Shuaibu has also died in Benin, the Edo State capital, at the age of 58.

His remains have been deposited at the Stella Obasanjo Women and Children Hospital in Benin.

A close family source said that he had complained of chest pain, before giving up.

Commissioner for Information in Edo State, Kashim Afegbua confirmed the death in a phone call put through by Ripples Nigeria.

Amodu who was working at the Nigeria Football Federation Technical Department,  has been sick and recently declined the Super Eagles job due to ill health after Sunday Oliseh’s resignation.
His remains will be buried today ( Saturday) in Ukpilla, Edo State according to Islamic rights.
