Belarus, China, France, Spain, Turkey for Rio Women Basketball

The groups and schedule for the Women’s Olympic Basketball Tournament at the Rio 2016 Games have been finalised following the conclusion of the 2016 FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament (WOQT) on Sunday.

Belarus, China, France, Spain and Turkey secured qualification for the Summer Games in Brazil through the 12-team event which took place from 13-19 June in Nantes, France.

Right after the tournament finished, the five qualified teams were drawn into the two groups of six teams previously determined as part of the Official Draw of the Rio 2016 Women’s Olympic Basketball Tournament, held on 11 March at FIBA’s headquarters.

Finalised groups for Women’s Olympic Basketball Tournament:

Group A: 1. France; 2. Japan; 3. Brazil; 4. Australia; 5. Belarus; 6. Turkey.

Group B: 1. Canada; 2. Spain; 3. USA; 4. Senegal; 5. Serbia; 6. China.
