Court frees suspected killers of Igbo woman trader in Kano
Five members of a gang of kidnappers are already facing charges at a magistrate court in Port Harcourt for being behind the abduction and murder of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Mr Samson Worlu.
According to reports, the suspects allegedly killed the kidnapped victim after collecting the sum of N1.5 million as ransom.
The suspects all went into hiding after kidnapping and collecting ransom for the murdered victim and were tracked by men of the Department of State Security (DSS), in Rivers State following the incident.
According to Charles Worlu, a brother to the deceased who was a serving in Imo State before his abduction at Rumuokoro roundabout in Obio Akpor local government area of Rivers State, all the family wanted was justice to be served.
“The kidnappers made our family pay them ransom twice, the first being one million naira and the second time, five hundred thousand naira and still murdered my brother, a lawyer who was called to the Bar on October 2015.”
