50-yr-old man lands in prison for raping, impregnating 15-yr-old
The Kano Chief Magistrate’s Court played host to the hearing of a case involving a 50-year-old man identified as Tukur Mohammed who allegedly raped and impregnated a 15-year-old girl (name withheld).
According to a report by the police, the suspect who is a resident of Kabo Local Government Area of Kano allegedly lured the victim to his farm where he forcefully raped her.

The case was brought to the notice of the police by one Abdulhamid Adamu, 45, who reported the matter on January 31, 2017, claiming that the 15-year-old got pregnant after she was raped by Mohammed.
While responding to his charge, Mohammed told the court that the allegations levelled against him were true. He also revealed that he has four children; “I have three girls, one boy, two out of my three daughters are married.”
In delivering her judgement, Chief Magistrate Mariam Sabo ordered the suspected rapist to be remanded in prison custody and also ordered that the medical expenses incurred by the victim, from the date of the incident till when she gives birth should be offset by the suspect.
