Vice Principal bags life imprisonment over rape of 12-yr-old student

Mr. Eze Oba, 54, has been imprisoned on the orders of an Egor Magistrates’ Court in Edo State after the suspect pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of burglary and stealing placed before him.

After hearing from the prosecutor, Chief Magistrate W. Aziegbemhin had no option but to order for the imprisonment of Oba while also adjourning the case till November 28 for the presentation of facts and further hearing.

While revealing that the accused committed the offence on November 17 at 5, Emma Avenue, Benin City, the prosecutor, C. Nnamdi alleged that the accused broke into the home of Jennifer Bazuaye and stole a Samsung phone valued at N60,000.

The prosecutor noted that the offence contravened sections 411 (i) and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code.
