6 more lawsuits filed against Apple over ‘slow down’ batteries

Days after two residents of Illinois filed lawsuits against Apple for slowed down batteries, the luxury phone making company has been hit with six more class-action lawsuits.

It turns out that eight lawsuits have since been filed against Apple over the issue with most of the lawsuits taking place in the US, but there are also lawsuits that have been filed in other countries such as Israel.

Apple has yet to respond to emails seeking comment on the lawsuits, but it’s imagined that the company has its hands full.

For those hearing about this for the first time, Apple had basically admitted that they do slow down older iPhones that have depleted/older batteries.

Apple’s reasoning is that this is supposed to provide a better experience for users who were facing random shutdowns of their iPhones due to the battery, and that the iOS update they introduced was meant to address the problem.
