Sure, we spend our days sifting through the latest research and asking super-toned celebrities about their workout secrets. At the end of the day, though, peeling off the pounds is just as challenging for us as it is for anyone else.

Here are six diet tricks that aren’t always easy to stick to, but they’ve proven to be effective.
1. Put Away the (Food) Scale: The amount of food intake matters when you seek to lose wight. Portion control isn’t about measuring; it’s about ordering two appetisers instead of an entrée and cutting back on bread if you have pasta.
2. Stash Fruit: Fruit intake is advisable; keep fruits at work and at home. It helps during the I-need-chocolate part of the afternoon.
3. Reduce Chocolate Intake: When weight reduction is top of your agenda then chocolate intake is a no go area. Resist the urge to eat chocolates when they arise.
4. Avoid Liquid Calories: Cut out drinks with calories—juice, lemonade, and, hardest of all, after-work wine.
5. Break Out the Skinny Jeans: Wear something tight! It provides the extra bit of motivation to lay off the fries and stay fit and trim.
6. Set Aside Leftovers: Serve yourself, then immediately pack the leftovers in a Tupperware container and store in the fridge.
