How 8 suicide bombers died in failed attack in Borno

The Nigerian Army has given details of how troops of Operation Lafiya Dole in Borno State foiled a planned suicide attack that led to the death of eight suspected suicide bombers on Tuesday.

According to a statement by the acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, the suicide bombers were intercepted at a checkpoint in Gubio, Gubio Local Government Area of the state, in a Bedford truck loaded with Improvised Explosive Devices and suicide vests.

The suspected bombers were said to have detonated their IEDs as they resisted moves by soldiers to screen the vehicle.

The statement reads: “The troops of Operation Lafiya Dole at a checkpoint in Gubio, Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State at about 9.15am today, foiled a suicide attack on Gubio town by eight Boko Haram terrorists.

“The suicide bombers, who came in a Bedford van loaded with Improvised Explosive Devices, attempted to force their way through the checkpoint but met a stiff resistance from troops, who insisted that the vehicle must be thoroughly checked.

“The suicide bombers refused and blew up themselves by detonating one of the suicide vests, killing all the eight Boko Haram terrorists in the van.”

It would be recalled that the Boko Haram insurgents have stepped up suicide bomb attacks lately while also ambushing troops, leading to the death of nine security operatives, including vigilantes and members of the Civilian JTF at the weekend. 19 soldiers were also wounded.

That’s how they will continue to kill themselves as they don’t want peace to reign.

This is why I hate religion! They would rather die than be forced to live. Whoever came up with the idea of worshipping an unseen person is so full of shit!
