85-yr-old leads fight to legalise marijuana

Anna Lee who lives in Texas, USA is not letting age deter her from fighting for a cherished cause – legalisation of weed in Texas.
Before she became a weed advocate, Lee had been opposed to weed legalisation her whole life until her son was in an accident, and required medical marijuana to help save his life.
She said. “We realised marijuana wasn’t the weed of the devil which I had been known to say,” she explained to a local news station.
Lee describes how people’s interest increased since she joined the campaign. “I don’t know whether it’s my age,” she said, “the white hair, what is it, but it does seem to strike a chord. I’ve been an activist for many years, but I’ve never had the response that I’m now getting. It’s just me, I believe in this.”
According to her, “Adults should have the right to choose marijuana,” she added. “The government has no business telling you you cannot.”
Lee said she plans on taking her fight all the way to Washington.
Though marijuana made steps toward legalisation in some states in USA, Texas still penalises the possession of marijuana.
