9 passengers injured in bus crash at Yangoji

Nine passengers on board a commercial bus were injured after it crashed on Tuesday evening near Yangoji village, on Abuja-Lokoja road.

A witness said the crash happened around 4:18 pm when the 18-seater bus with registration number HJA 765 XA had a tyre burst and the driver lost control of his steering and crashed into a ditch.

He the bus summersaulted three times before it crashed into a ditch, saying men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) came to the scene and evacuated the injured victims to the hospital.

When contacted, the Yangoji unit commander of the FRSC, ACC Joseph Samgbaza, confirmed the crash , which he attributed to tyre burst and loss of control.

He said the nine injured victims were taken to Kwali general hospital and University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada.
