Abductors of Samuel Kalu’s mum demand additional N50m ransom

Suspected kidnappers who abducted the mother of Super Eagles winger, Samuel Kalu, are demanding an extra N50m ransom.

This is according to a report on Complete Sports on Monday afternoon.

The kidnappers, who initially demanded for a N3m ransom, declined to release Mrs Ozuruonye Juliet Kalu even after the money was delivered to them, demanding N50m in addition.

It was gathered that Mrs Kalu was driving with some of her children along the Okpulu Umuobo area of Aba, Abia State, last Wednesday when the unidentified gunmen blocked her vehicle, ordered the children out of the car and took her away.

The Abia State Police Command are working with the family to secure her release, the report says.

Kalu has a match to play with his French club Girondins Bordeaux agaianst Montpellier in the Ligue 1 clash on Tuesday.

Kalu has been handed invitation to the Nigeria’s squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Seychelles and the friendly clash against the Pharaohs of Egypt later this month.

The list of invited players was released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday afternoon.
