24 hours after the abduction of the Redeemed Christian Church pastor identified as Kayode Bajomo in the Santos area of Ikorodu, his kidnappers have reached out demanding that a ransom amounting to the tune of N100 million be paid for his release.
The incident which took many worshipers by surprise when gunmen who wore attractive clothes sauntered into the church and kidnapped the pastor some minutes before service has now been transferred from the Owutu Police Division to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikorodu, of the Lagos State Police Command.
One of the family friends of the kidnapped pastor who pleaded anonymity revealed that the abductors were suspected to be ijaw militants and have demanded the sum of N100 million as ransom.
“Those men have called. They are asking for N100m. That is a big worry. The pastor was cleaning the chairs on Sunday with a few members when the men came in. But God is in control,” she said.
SP Dolapo Badmos, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, informed that the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has ordered that the case be transferred SARS.
“The CP has directed that the case be transferred to SARS to give it the attention it deserves,” she said.
