Abia PDP chairmanship primaries turn bloody, 1 dead, 4 arrested
Abia State Police Command on Thursday said one person died after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship primaries in the sates on Wednesday turned bloody.
According to the command’s spokesman, Ogbonnaya Nta, who briefed newsmen on the event in Umuahia, the deceased was identified as Onyemaechi and a member of staff of Isialangwa North Local Government (LGA).
He said he died in a fire incident, after aggrieved delegates set on fire the Chairman’s office in the local government, the venue of the election. He added that the command had also arrested four persons in connection with the havoc.
